Privacy
Privacy at Heirsake.
A family hands us something precious: a parent’s voice, old photographs, private memories. This page explains, in plain language, how we treat it. The full, binding agreement lives in our terms of service.
The promises that matter
- Private by default. A book is invite-only until you decide otherwise. It is never sold or quietly indexed, and a private link shares it only with the people you choose.
- Your family owns it. The stories, recordings, and photographs are yours. We hold them to run the service and claim no ownership. Read the ownership promise.
- Yours alone. Each family’s archive is kept apart from every other. No one outside your family can reach what you gather here.
- You can leave with everything. Export the whole archive at any time: the book as text and pages, every photo and recording. Nothing is locked in.
What we collect
To run the service we keep your account details (name, email, and the family members you invite), the content you add (recordings, transcripts, photos, letters, and the book), and basic usage needed to keep things working. We do not buy data about you from third parties, and we do not build a profile of who you are.
How the website personalizes
On our marketing pages we use only signals you give us: a one-tap choice of who your book is about, your language, and your own prior choices, stored in small functional cookies. We never infer or target by sensitive or protected characteristics. Personalization should feel like being understood, never like being watched.
How AI is used
AI helps write your book from what was actually said. It works for your family in the moment and keeps nothing afterward. We do not sell your content or let any AI provider train models on it.
